Best Season for Trekking in Nepal

Nepal is popular tourist destination all over the world by offering adventure activities like mountaineering, trekking, rafting and jungle safaris. For those who love to enjoy with nature and Adventure Nepal is the best country. Most of the tourists visit Nepal for recreation, trekking and mountaineering, business, official visit, pilgrimage, and other purposes which makes Nepal as one of major tourist destination of the world in recent years. Best seasons for trekking in Nepal are autumn, from mid September to early December and spring, from the beginning of March until the end of May, by offering best weather and excellent mountain views. The Weather is fantastic with mild to warm days and cold nights in autumn. Days are warm and the displays of flowers, such as rhododendrons, are spectacular at spring.

Spring: (March to May)

This is another best times for Trekking in Nepal. This is the time of beautiful and colorful flowers cover around 3,000 meters of hillside situated in the Himalayan Mountains. Rhododendron sweeps the ascending altitudes with its magnanimous color and beauty. During this Period mildly warm and the mountain views are excellent and temperature is quite moderate. It is a great time for trekking as by now all the trails are clear of snow. This spring season offers less clouds and better mountain views in the Himalayas.

Summer: (June-August)

Summer is also considered the monsoon season in Nepal and is recommended for botanists and researchers. Normally Trekking in summer is difficult and uncomfortable as the weather is hot and it rains almost every day. Summer is considered the best time for experience river adventures in Nepal. During the summer, trekking can be done at Himalaya’s rain shadow area Mustang, Nar-Phu valley and Dolpo regions.

Autumn: (September to November)

This is the best season for trekking, by offering excellent weather and most reliable mountain views, temperatures are moderate, making it a good for trek. It can be cold at night higher up, but not as cold as it gets in winter, and the daytime temperatures are pleasantly cool for walking. This season offers the best and clearest time for visiting the Himalayas because the air is clean and clear and it’s generally sunny and the clear views. This is also the season for celebrates the biggest Hindu festivals Dashain and Tihar. Trekkers can experience to breathe fresh air and excellent visibility during this period.

Winter: (December to February)

Winter is very cold days in the Himalayas. During this period weather is cool and the sky is clear with occasional snowfalls at higher elevations. Because of snow fall, ideal for trekking at lower elevation, generally below 3500 meters. It is a good time for other adventure activities such as Paragliding, Bungee Jumping, Jungle Safari and Mountain Biking.
