Daman is one of the best destinations for hiking which issituated 80 kilometers south- west of Kathmandu. Daman hiking is widely known for its incredible views of Himalayan peaks such as Mt. Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, DorjeLhakpa, GauriShankar, Cho you etc. We can view the 360 degree view of the panorama of Himalaya’s looks totally striking our mind and heart. The long range telescope provided here gives you closer look of the mountains range.  Kathmandu Daman hiking trail winds throughout crazy quilt valleys, opaque forests and past icy waterfall.

Our Daman hiking starts from Kathmandu valley with a 6-7 hrs drive journey to Daman valley. Similarly we can reach Daman from Chitwan and Pokhara if we are at these places. We will enjoy and explore walking on to travel around the nature and landscapes of Daman village. Daman is a hill station famous for sunrise and sunset of the magnificent view of Himalaya's ranges against the vastness of the sky. You can view the majestic range of GauriShankar / Dorje Lakpa and many more including Everest in the fairest with the great landscapes. Moreover Daman is the very cool place and snowfalls can also be enjoyed during winters. Since the village lies in the outskirt of Kathmandu, it provides a great opportunity for the people residing in Kathmandu to observe its beauty and use for means of recreation. Beautiful Daman hiking is also accompanied with a sightseeing of fine-looking Kathmandu valley.  

Outline Itinerary

Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport
Day 2: A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu,
Day 3: Kathmandu to Daman drive
Day 4: Daman sunrise view and back to Kathmandu
Day 5: Farewell Departure

Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport
We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.

Day 2: A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley
The very next morning, after breakfast you will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and the fine arts and historical architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square reflecting the ancient Nepalese culture are highlighted on our guided tour. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the popular streets.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Daman drive
After having the breakfast early in the morning we will take a private vehicle for the drive to Daman which is about 6-7hrs journey. We will have our lunch in hotel in Daman. After that we will take a walk to travel around the natural beauties and landscapes of this village. Hike to nearby hills; we will have majestic views of incredible Himalayan peaks.

Day 4: Daman sunrise view and back to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, you can observe the mesmerizing sunrise from Daman. Daman is a hill station famous for sunrise and sunset of the magnificent view of Himalaya's ranges against the vastness of the sky.You can view the majestic range of GauriShankar / Dorje Lakpa and many more including Everest in the fairest with the great landscapes. After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu. You can also take a leisurely stroll over the streets and buy some souvenirs and remembering from Nepal. At the evening you will have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali dinner accompanied with cultural program.

Day 5: Farewell Departure
Exchange greetings among friends and with all Nepalese people. From today you may continue your next trip or any other programs. This can be also the last day of your hiking and you can have final departure back to your destination.

Passport and Visas:

First, be sure you have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date.  You can obtain visas for Nepal from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or up on arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Nepalese visas cost USD 25 for 15 days and USD 40 for 30 days till date.


Get the required visa for Nepal.

You can get Nepal visa prior to arrival from the Nepalese Embassy at your home country. Likewise, you can easily get an up on arrival visa at Kathmandu airport and other different borders from Nepal. Bring Official Papers

Some of the required official documents are your valid passport, 4 extra passport sized photographs (for trekking permits), travel insurance, airline tickets and luggage tags. Visas can be obtained upon entry into Nepal. For detail information we request you to visit our visa page.


Money & Credit card Info

We find that most of the credit card, master and visa card is blocked from your card provider. It may be because of a security reason. It, sometimes, may bring you in problematic situation that you can't get money from ATMs and that you find difficult to pay for your treks and tour. To find yourself free from this problem, you can call to your card provider before you travel to Nepal and inform there that you are traveling to Nepal. Ensure them to give the authorization for the payment. In Nepal you have to pay 3.5 % credit card commission s per Nepal Bank rules, on top of your payable amount for the trek cost.  So, please be sure that you bring some cash in USD to pay us. Likewise, be sure you have brought some small amount for your daily expenses as well as for those items which are not included in our cost. We request you not to change money in the Airport. The exchange rate is very low there. Our office provides you the facility to change your money. Or, you can take help from Money Changers in Thamel


Travel Insurance:

Our clients must have comprehensive travel insurance package. Their insurance must cover against medical, personal accident, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, lost of gears, natural calamity, theft of or damage to baggage etc.


Load shedding (Electricity crisis) in Nepal

We are sorry to inform you that though Nepal is rich in water resource, there is electricity crisis in Nepal. It is more likely that there is electricity off for some hours in day and night time.  Most of the hotels in Kathmandu, Pokhara and other cities are likely to have no battery backup. Air condition may not work and, sometimes, TV and other electric utensils may not run. Some hotel is likely to run the TV and AC also. However, only few of them are in this category.
So, be prepared for this while you are traveling here.  For your ease, we recommend you to bring the flashlight with extra bulbs and batteries.


Clothing and Equipment for Traveling in Nepal

Trekking in the Himalayas need to arrangement of equipment as you have to find yourself comfortable at higher altitude. The basic clothing item that you are expected to be prepared with are well described here. Remember that excess baggage is likely to be a burden for yourself and your supporting staff. Buying and Renting Equipment in Kathmandu

It is not really necessary to spend large amount of money buying extra equipment and clothing prior to your trip. It is because most of the trekking equipment can be hired from many adventure shops within Kathmandu. Most of the gear is locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper). Some Chinese gear are likely to be more expensive but qualitative. Sleeping bag and down jacket are easily rented. Each item can be rented for less than USD 1, for a day. You have to manage other items buying them yourself. However, these items are more likely to be cheaper than those in your hometown. We will arrange all the necessary items you need on the second day of your arrival. Moreover, we ourselves will fascinate you to buy the goods.  


Vaccination for Nepal

All travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities)
For traveling to Nepal; we recommend you to take a vaccination of Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies etc, it is not really must but recommended.


How to Book

We need 20% booking amount to confirm your booking, the payment can be made through the Bank transfer, Credit card payment (Master/Visa card ) or through online money transfers also Money Gram, Western Unions or others. After we get the 20% amount we will confirm your booking and you will get the official booking and payment receipt. The final balance for the tour will be paid up on arrival in Kathmandu.
