Kathmandu valley mountain bike tour offers you a delightful world of wooded slopes, small villages, hidden temples and the views which include all of the principal peaks of the Nepal Himalaya - from Makalu to the Annapurna. You can explore secluded places and reach places that cannot be visited any other way. Mountain biking in Kathmandu offers an environmentally sound way of exploring this magnificent country, its landscape and living heritage. 

The biking trips within Kathmandu Valley allow you to enjoy its hidden pockets rarely frequented by westerners which give you a chance to see the other back side of Kathmandu. You will visit the historic cities of Patan and Bhaktapur, hill resort of Nagarkot with its sunrise view of the entire Nepal Himalaya and the temples, monasteries and picturesque villages tucked away in the forests along the way. The biking continues to Dhulikhel, and beautiful hill station Nagarkot. You will witness the sacred temples like Palanchowk bhagawati, Dakchhinkali and Namo Buddha during the cycling around Kathmandu valley. It is a good way to visit the interesting towns, temples and Buddha Stupas. It can be really interesting visiting a rarely visited traditional Newari village. Out of the valley you will ride to Kulekhani and Daman that offers you exciting biking along with splendid views.

 Mountain biking in Kathmandu is a fascinating way to travel the byways of the valley, visiting little known villages, sacred groves and out of the way temples and monuments. The ride is a moderate one, with lots of up and down hill and requires a good level of fitness. The challenges come with adventures out in the wild lurk around almost every corner you zip into.

Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport

We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast. 

Day 2: A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley

The very next morning, after breakfast you will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and the fine arts and historical architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square reflecting the ancient Nepalese culture are highlighted on our guided tour. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the popular streets.

Day 3: Bike to Nagi Gompa, Chisa pani (2195m)

Chisa pani is east and north side of Katmandu. Follow a good forested trail with Rhododendrons blooming in the spring adding a magical appeal, whilst the Himalayas again manifest.  On the way you can find single track on adventure riding from jhule to jarsin pauwa. From Chisopani you can have good mountain views and also visit the Nagi Gompa here.

Day 4: Bike to Nagarkot (2000m)

Today is again traffic free riding as you leave chisopani via the track and head up to Nagarkot.  A short steep climb up to Nagarkot will be rewarded by the comfort and peaceful surroundings. It offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalaya peaks when the sky is clear. Eight of the nine highest Himalayan peaks can be seen, from the Annapurna as far as the Mount Everest

Day 5: Bike to Palanchowk Bhagawati

After enjoying the glorious sun rise view, the day begins with an exciting descent by single track trail. We have a ride through the rustic village trail to the scared hindu pilgrimage Palanchowk bhagwati.

Day 6: Bike to Dhulikhel (1600m)

Dhulikhel is also the gateway to the road network that stretches into Tibet and the other eastern towns in Nepal. Leave Nagarkot and go down hill for some way and rejoin the road for the short climb to Dhulikhel another ideal hill town.        

Day 7: Bike to Namo Buddha - Lakhure Bhanjyang Best view point of Valley

We start with an early morning climb on wide jeep trail to the temple of Namo Buddha, rewarded with superb views of Ganesh Himal. we enter into a narrow pristine valley ascending 300m on superb trail to reach the summit of Kathmandu Valley's eastern rim known as Lakhuri Bhanjyang. It offers extremely stunning vies of high standing magnificent mountains.

Day 8: Bike to Dakchhinkali

Today we will ride to dakchhinkali Temple. We pass through many rustic villages, while the views of the Himalayas follow you on the right side on clear day! We follow the narrow paved road along the beautiful village farm land scenery to our village Inn. In Dakchhinkali a Hindu live sacrifice spot is just near the Village Inn.

Day 9: Bike to Kule Khani

We spend the morning sampling some exciting trails that lead up and across the valley rim to the south and on to the Kulekhani Dam Site. Even Kulekhani is the best view point for the panoramic views. From Kakani we ride through scared track to Daman.

Day 10: Bike to Daman

Daman is Best View point to western mountain range of the Nepal. Leaving Kulekhani Lake behind we ride on wide dusty dirt trail to Palung village, popular for vegetabe farming.  We will start a 35-km climb to Tistung at 2100m, through terraced fields carved out into the steep hillsides to Daman.

Day 11: Bike to the down hill to Naubise and Bus transfer to Kathmandu

We descend down to Palung valley on the same way and continue up to Palung height then we follow a long broken tarmac road to Naubise.  We will ride back to Kathmandu on tarmac road.

Day 12: Free day in Kathmandu

Today you will have a free day in Kathmandu valley. Have some rest in your hotel. You can also take a leisurely stroll over the streets and buy some souvenirs and remembering from Nepal. At evening we will have a typical Nepali dinner accompanied with cultural shows in Hotel.

Day 13: Farewell Departure

Today is free or last minute you have few hour special shopping for your relatives. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. We will drop you to the International airportto catch your flight back to your home and wish for your Safe journey.
