Siklis is one of the largest Gurung villages in Nepal. Annapurna Siklis trek is a picturesque trek that unfolds the natural beauty and traditional culture of Nepal due to the various geographical terrains, villages, rhododendron forest, and high alpine meadows resting below the soaring peaks of Annapurna region. This beautiful camping trek is a great introduction to the beauty of the Annapurna range and to the Buddhist Gurung culture. The trek provides awesome views of different Annapurna Himalayan Range along with Dhaulagiri and Mt. Manaslu. The chirping sound of the birds all along the Trek and the unique tradition with the truly captivating village will give the real experience of rural Nepal.
This trek starts from Bijayapur Khola which is a short drive distance from Pokhara. From Bijayapur Khola we ascend towards the Rice Fields of Rakhi Gaon to Chautara. Siklis Village allows you to study the prosperity of flora and fauna. We will get to know about the Gurung, a people of Tibetan origin who practiced an interesting shamanistic religion. The historically significant Annapurna Siklis trek passes through fascinating patterns terraced fields, remote charming villages, rhododendron forest and high alpine meadows. Climbing to the ridges of open pasture, we will enjoy uninterrupted views of Annapurna II (7939m) and Annapurna IV (7525m).You will witness Mt. Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Fish Tail and other giants from a marvelously scenic angle.
Rough and wild, this Trek through less traveled country of the south of Annapurna 2 and Lamjung Himal massif. It boasts good mountain views. This invigorating Siklis trek is one of the wilderness treks in Annapurna region walking off the main trails through quiet forest, alive with bird song and a blaze of color in spring. The view from the ridges of the endless blue foothills as they roll southwards is unsurpassed anywhere in the Kingdom. Rare walk through a shady forest of rhododendron- hung heavy with lichen and moss, wild flowers and orchids flowering on the branches can be the most memorable part of this trek. The region is particularly good for bird watching because of its pristine forested surroundings where different species of birds thrive.

Day 10: Final Departure
Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport
We will meet you at airport and transfer to your hotel. As you freshen up after your long journey, you will be asked to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.
Day 2: A full day recreational tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley
The very next morning, after breakfast you will be taken for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath might make you feel calm and peace and visit Patan the city of fine arts and Durbar Square is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments. On journey back to hotel, you can explore the local areas, gullies and lifestyle. After your dinner, you can perhaps take leisurely stroll through the famous streets like Thamel and Durbarmarg.
Day 3: Flight or Drive to Pokhara
After having your breakfast, we will drive you to the Domestic Airport to take a 25 minutes flight to Pokhara. Or if you wish you can take a Tourist bus to Pokhara about 6-7 hour drive exploring & enjoying with scenic beauty all the way around. Blessed with pleasant weather, Pokhara is a tourist's paradise full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, Buddhist and Hindu temples and beautiful mountain views. In the evening, a boating trip on Phewa Lake will be followed where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Annapurna Himalaya Range reflected in all it's glory in the calm green water of the lake.
Day 4: Pokhara to Kalikasthan (1370m)
The trail starts near the army camp on the Prithivi highway, just east of the Vijaypur Khola. Cross the flat area of rice fields and the river trekking through different tribal villages before reaching the ridge of Kalikasthan. The campsite is situated above the village on grassy land with panoramic view of mountain, Begnas Tal and Pokhara city.
Day 5: Kalikasthan to Lammchaur (1680m)
A 6hrs trail proceeds through local villages of mixed ethnic groups and rice growing terraces up to Mardi Khola. Passing different water falls, the tracks moves down hill to the lush green hills that stretch for miles which stirs the imagination for good thoughts before climbing Lammchaur. Stay overnight at camp.
Day 6: Lammchaur to Siklis (1980m)
The hike path climbs to Siklis (Largest Gurung Village) through dense rhododendron forests and cultivated fields. Most of the people here served in the Indian and British Army. You will be overwhelmed to experience the traditional culture of Gurungs. This is the best point to see the Himalayan panorama like Annapurna, Lamjung Himal etc. Camping along with their hospitality will be memorable.
Day 7: Siklis to Ghale Gaon (2000m)
Today trek goes passing rhododendron and oak forests following a gently ascending path and then proceeding over flat land. While walking, you cross the highest pass of this trek (2100m). After hiking through the pass, you descend steeply to reach Ghale Gaon. It is a small village mainly inhabited by the Gurung and Magar communities. Enjoy the panoramic view of Fishtail with camping.
Day 8: Ghale Gaon to Pokhara
The trek takes about 3 hours from Ghale Gaon to Pokhara. You descend through the forest passing a diverse range of tribal villages. Get familiar with the various ethnic groups like Bhramins, Chhetris, Thakali etc. In the evening you are free in Pokhara to feel the moderate climate and sceneries of this Magic land or Dream Land of Nepal. Also you can extend your journey here to explore the various interesting places like Mahendra Cave, David's fall and the various lakes. Spend your night on the beautiful beaches lakeside.
Day 9: Pokhara to Kathmandu, Take a 25 minutes flight or 6/7 hour Drive.
You can take a flight or drive by tourist bus/Private car to Kathmandu. At the evening you can have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali cultural dinner show, taking some beautiful snaps and making up your mind for the returning journey. (Or stay longer for short tours such as drives at National parks, rafting, Tibet tours, mountain biking etc).
You can have a greetings exchanging among friends and buy some souvenirs.
Day 10: Final Departure
We will take you to the International Airport for your flight back to home. Wish you a happy journey back to our home and hope to see you again.

Passport and Visas:
First, be sure you have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date. You can obtain visas for Nepal from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or up on arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Nepalese visas cost USD 25 for 15 days and USD 40 for 30 days till date.
Get the required visa for Nepal.
You can get Nepal visa prior to arrival from the Nepalese Embassy at your home country. Likewise, you can easily get an up on arrival visa at Kathmandu airport and other different borders from Nepal. Bring Official Papers
Some of the required official documents are your valid passport, 4 extra passport sized photographs (for trekking permits), travel insurance, airline tickets and luggage tags. Visas can be obtained upon entry into Nepal. For detail information we request you to visit our visa page.
Money & Credit card Info
We find that most of the credit card, master and visa card is blocked from your card provider. It may be because of a security reason. It, sometimes, may bring you in problematic situation that you can't get money from ATMs and that you find difficult to pay for your treks and tour. To find yourself free from this problem, you can call to your card provider before you travel to Nepal and inform there that you are traveling to Nepal. Ensure them to give the authorization for the payment. In Nepal you have to pay 3.5 % credit card commission s per Nepal Bank rules, on top of your payable amount for the trek cost. So, please be sure that you bring some cash in USD to pay us. Likewise, be sure you have brought some small amount for your daily expenses as well as for those items which are not included in our cost. We request you not to change money in the Airport. Our clients must have comprehensive travel insurance package. Their insurance must cover against medical, personal accident, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, lost of gears, natural calamity, theft of or damage to baggage etc.
Load shedding (Electricity crisis) in Nepal
We are sorry to inform you that though Nepal is rich in water resource, there is electricity crisis in Nepal. It is more likely that there is electricity off for some hours in day and night time. Most of the hotels in Kathmandu, Pokhara and other cities are likely to have no battery backup. Air condition may not work and, sometimes, TV and other electric utensils may not run. Some hotel is likely to run the TV and AC also. However, only few of them are in this category.
So, be prepared for this while you are traveling here. For your ease, we recommend you to bring the flashlight with extra bulbs and batteries.
Who can trek?
No special degree of fitness is required and that there is no age barrier. However, in the areas over 3000m altitude, extra care should be taken. Our Trekking Dates
Most of our treks start on the third day of your arrival. On the first day of your arrival, we will pick you from the airport and let you know your hotel. However, it depends on your arrival time. If your flight is early, we are likely to invite you to our office and make yourself comfort with ideas and brief information on your trek package. If you arrive at night, all the arrangements are likely to made the morning. Second day, it is our package to take you for sightseeing tour within Kathmandu valley. However, the trekkers who have limited time can start their trekking from the second day. We can arrange all the necessary trekking permits and other utensils in advance in case you have limited time. It is your third day that you will fly out of Kathmandu. However, if any further arrangement is still at wait, you can enjoy your trek the next day.
Clothing and Equipment for Traveling in Nepal
Trekking in the Himalayas need to arrangement of equipment as you have to find yourself comfortable at higher altitude. The basic clothing item that you are expected to be prepared with are well described here. Remember that excess baggage is likely to be a burden for yourself and your supporting staff. Buying and Renting Equipment in Kathmandu
It is not really necessary to spend large amount of money buying extra equipment and clothing prior to your trip. It is because most of the trekking equipment can be hired from many adventure shops within Kathmandu. Most of the gear is locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper). Some Chinese gear are likely to be more expensive but qualitative. Sleeping bag and down jacket are easily rented. Each item can be rented for less than USD 1, for a day. You have to manage other items buying them yourself. However, these items are more likely to be cheaper than those in your hometown. We will arrange all the necessary items you need on the second day of your arrival. Moreover, we ourselves will fascinate you to buy the goods.
Vaccination for Nepal
All travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities)
For traveling to Nepal; we recommend you to take a vaccination of Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies etc, it is not really must but recommended.

We need 20% booking amount to confirm your booking, the payment can be made through the Bank transfer, Credit card payment (Master/Visa card ) or through online money transfers also Money Gram, Western Unions or others. After we get the 20% amount we will confirm your booking and you will get the official booking and payment receipt. The final balance for the tour will be paid up on arrival in Kathmandu.

Q. Where is Mount Annapurna located?
Annapurna is a section of the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes 8,091m (26,545 ft) Annapurna I, thirteen additional peaks over 7,00m (22,970 ft) and 16 more over 6,000m. The entire massif and surrounding area are protected Annapurna Conservation Area Project.
Q. How to enter Siklis?
Beautiful Pokhara city is the gateway to the Annapurna region. Have a 25 minutes flight to Pokhara or drive of about 4-5 hrs from Kathmandu. We have direct flight of 40 min to Jomsom too. From Nayapul or Dhampus, trek inside Annapurna region. You can also start from Besisahar for Annapurna circuit or round trek. You can also start your journey from Beni, which is about 9-10 hrs drive from Kathmandu.
Q. When is the best time to go to Siklis Trek?
Mainly we have 2 seasons Siklis trekking, the autumn (September, October & November) and spring (March, April & May)season are good when weather is pleasant, The monsoon rains have cleared the sky of dust and the views are often spectacular, clear sky, flowers are in blooming, good trail condition. The winter Dec, Jan and Feb is recommended for this trek as it goes maximum height of 2000m so not very cold, some time we may expect the foggy weather, The summer (June, July, August is rainy season so visibility can be less and rain will be issue, considering Summer June is ok as in general rain will nearly from last week of June. The benefit to do the trek in off season is there are not many tourists, very easy to find the best rooms in the lodge.
Q. How fit do I have to be?
Trekking to Siklis is considered easy trekking, people have no previous trekking or mountaineering experience can do the trekking easily, only you need to trek 6 hours in the rocky trail, easy trek means we don’t go more heights and there is no altitude issue but working style is same mostly up and down hills and minimum 5 to 6 hours of walking. We can tailor made the trip itinerary depends on people fitness level.
Q. Do I really need to use a guide for this trek?
We always recommend to have a guide for any trekking in Nepal Himalaya, there were few trekkers already missed and lost in the some trekking trail, the mountain trail is easily losable and most of the places have no sign for trail junction so people have difficulty which direction to go. A great guide will make your overall experience more memorable and enjoyable.
Q. Is it recommended to get Nepalese visa in advance or at the airport?
Obtaining Nepalese visa at arrival is easier expecting some time queuing. If you get your visa in advance, you can avoid the queue.
Don’t forget to carry two passport size photographs and to bring cash as ATM is not available at the site.
Note: If you are staying for more than 15 days, don’t forget to ask visa for 30 day.

Q. How difficult is the Siklis Trek?
Siklis Trek is considering easy grade trekking and suitable for everybody Children to older people. The treks involve walking up and down but not going more than 1730m height so altitude is not issue on this trek this is the reason categorized on easy grade. We take 2 years old baby also for the trek carrying by our porter. As needed to walk 5/6 hours every day so if you can train yourself by jogging, running, yoga will be much more easier for you.
Q. How should I prepare for the trek?
The main things in the trek is one should able to walk 5-6 hours every day in rough rocky trail, so every day short walk up to 1 hour,1,2 month before the trek is best suggestion, jogging, yoga will be also advisable.
Q. Can I trek as solo women, is it safe?
There is never problem trekking with solo women or join in the group, we have operated trek for many single female traversal our guide and porters are honest, trust worthy, reliable and carefully chosen for your trips, you will not face any problem trekking with your guide, you will meet many likeminded travelers during the trail.
Q. Can I drink the local water during the trek?
You can use the chlorine tablets and used the same water as locals do. bottled water also available throughout the trek but the prices are expensive, you can get a boiled or hot water also in the guest house, wise is get the water purification tablets and use the normal water.
Q. Can I charge my gadgets?
Yes, you can charge batteries along the trek (US$2-3 per hour) most of the guest houses have electricity facilities. You may want to consider bringing a solar charger which is now widely available.
Q. Can I buy a Sim Card in Nepal and will it work on the trek?
You can buy the Ncell Sim very easily (you need passport photo and passport copy). It worked at most places during the trekking.
Q. Bank and ATM services are available or not?
Yes, you will have facilities like bank and ATM service in Pokhara. There is banks and ATM service available. But it's better to carry cash as it's uncertain to function.
Q. Am I too old to do this trek?
We saw older people on the trail more easily they finish the trek, this trek is suitable for 2 years to 80 years old people, for baby we provide the extra porter to carry and have already organize a trek for many families with their small children’s. People who have passion for mountain can do this trek.
Q. What type of shoes should I buy?
Good comfortable trekking shoes is the most important for the trek, for shorter trek tennis shoes or snickers is ok while longer treks requites the good boots have good ankle support, plenty of tow room for long descents, a bit like timberlands, they are a bit heavier, but most importantly you want to get those that wrap the angle, this prevents you from twisting your ankles on uneven grounds. Good lightweight trekking boots or light all leather boots are perfect. Proper fit is a must for boots and must be lightly worn before use it for trekking.
Q. What if I get sick while on trek?
It depends on nature of sickness. If you have a some minor health problem we will give you our medicine, our guide will take immediate action according to the situation, for worse case we will arrange a helicopter consulting with your Insurance company and rescue you, altitude is not big issue trek nearly 2000m.
