The popular trek to Gosainkunda starts from Dhunche Village or Syabru Besi both from the Langtang side. Langtang Gosainkunda trekking gives the trekker a remarkable and varied journey through the Langtang valley and onto the holy lakes of Gosainkunda. Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport
We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.
Day 2: A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley
The very next morning, after breakfast you will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and the fine arts and historical architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square reflecting the ancient Nepalese culture are highlighted on our guided tour. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the popular streets.
Day 3: Kathmandu drive to Syabru Bensi (1550m/5100ft) about 7-8 hours drive
After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu for about 7-8hr. You will witness nice scenery of white snowcapped mountains like Mt. Annapurna II, Manasalu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks along the route and as well as green scenery of hillock, rivers and village. Enjoy the Himalayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. The scenery of foothills and ridgeline vistas goes through the Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati and Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. We take our Lunch at the Trishuli Bazaar before continuing further toDhunche. We descend down to Syabrubesi for the overnight stay.
Day 4: Syabru Bensi trek to Lama Hotel (2450m): walking distance 6-7 hours, 1070m ascent - 10.9 km
The first day excitement trail crosses through the Bhote koshi River flowing down from Tibet and following the Langtang Khola. After a visit to the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche, follow the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge the trail gradually ascend up to Bamboo passing by landslide. The trail goes through the sub tropical forest which is cover by oak and maple, massive spruce, fir and blue pine. We pass through the forests of oak and rhododendron. The variety wildlife; yellow-throated martens, wild boars, Langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears etc. are inhabitance of the forest. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m). And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 5: Lama Hotel trek to Langtang Village (3430m): walking distance 4-5 hours, 980m ascent - 14.8 km
The day start with a gentle climb, but it soon becomes steeper, climbing through wild forests of hemlocks, oaks, maples and white and pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang Khola. The tantalizing glimpse of snow capped peaks start appearing along with fleeting view of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7244m) through the trees. The trail leads to a log bridge and on climbing further we come across lush meadows of Ghora Tabela (2992m).The trail ascends gradually as the valley opens up into classical U-shaped glacial. Follow the trail across the helipad and yak pastures, climb briefly through rhododendrons and scattered Tamang villages. The trail crosses a stream and climbs past several water driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang (3430m), headquarter of Langtang National Park. The village has flat- roofed Tibetan style house and elaborately carved driven windows of the upper village is worth exploring. Valley is surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields where buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley are planted and easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you.
Day 6: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m): walking distance 2-3 hours, 460m ascent - 6.8 km
The trail winds through the village and climbs a ridge topped by a large chorten. It then climbs gradually past an impressive mani wall, crossing a stream to the small village of Mundu (3442m). After crossing several small streams with wooden cantilever bridges and moraines, you can finally see the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous Government operated Cheese factory. We have chance to test cheese and curd by Yak milk, it is remarkable of this place. After having lunch, we can explore the area with abundant panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7246m), Genjempol, Kyangjin RI (4750m.), Tsergo RI (5000m.), Ganja la (5160m.), Langshisa- Ri (6427m.), Dorje Lhakpa (6430m.), Naya Kang (5844m.), Yala peak (5500m).
Day 7: Acclimatization day in Kyanjin (3870m)
Today is the rest and exploration day of the trekking .We visit the monastery and the cheese factory or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjin Ri (4350m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m), which is highest point of this trek. Hike easy for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. We also have options to do a side trip to Langshisa Kharka. There are several alternatives sided trips, the surroundings areas of North having many smaller uninhabited valleys. Spend your night back to the Kyanjin.
Day 8: Trekking back to Lama Hotel (3430m): walking distance 6 hours, 1430m descent - 21.6 km
Have your breakfast with observing surrounding genetic snowy capped mountains breathtaking view. We will follow the same trail back following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After having a lunch stop continue steep descend to Lama Hotel. All the way downhill you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up.
Day 9: Lama Hotel trek to Big Syabru Bensi (2230m): walking distance 6-7 hours - 13.1 km
The beginning trail gently descends along the river to the landslide then passes through pine and Junipers forests steeply up to Thulo (Big) Syabru. The trail offers magnificent views of red pandas, boar, monkeys and various species of birds. The Tamang Cultural Heritage “Thulo Syabru Gaun” preserves wonderful ethnic custom, culture and their traditional. Here, you can enjoy the amazing landscape and the magnificent nature with splendid views of Ganesh Himal (7110m), Langtang Himal and its ranges. Rest of the day explore around the small village of Syabru.
Day 10: Big Syabru Bensi to Sing Gompa (3330m): walking distance 3-4 hours, 1040m ascent - 6.8 km
The trails lead us from Thulo Syabru follows a steep ascent path passing through Dursagang (2735m), passing aline of chotens. Along with the breathtaking views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountain, the trail continues steeply through the forests of oak and hemlock and then less steeply through rhododendron forest and pastures to the top of the ridge at Phoparng Danda (3190m). Watch the langur monkeys playing in the forest and a fine sunset views over the Ganesh Himal. The larger trail cuts across the ridge top, staying fairly level through silent moss-covered forests. Then the path gently ascends for a while and follows a flat level to the Sing Gompa. The local well managed cheese factory and a Buddhist Monastery’s can be the visiting places which provides panoramic views, exhilarating nature. Spend your night at teahouse.
Day 11: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake (4460m): walking distance 4-6 hours, 1130 m ascent - 11.2 km
The trail today takes two parts. Initially the trail climbs steeply up a ridge that marks a transition zone between rich, moist mountain forests and dry scrub vegetation on the slopes. Slope is the sanctuary for the red pandas and providing magnificent view of snowcapped Ganesh Himal. The trail to LauriBinayak (3920m) is steep & continues for three hours. We follow a rugged trail with dramatic views to the west; Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks and to the north also across the valley is Langtang Lirung.
From LauriBinayak, the trail ascends now in alpine country above the tree line. Cross a small ridge to see first view of the holy lake of Gosaikunda. There are about a dozen lakes around Gosaikunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda and Gosaikunda. The myth is, Gosaikunda was created by Lord Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison which threatened to destroy the world. Hundreds of pilgrims come here to worship and bathe during the full-moon festival every August.
Day 12: Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3440m): walking distance 6-8 hours, 300m ascent and 1320m descent
After explore around at Gosaikunda, we start a bit challenge day. The trail traverses the northern side of Gosaikunda Lake and climbs on a rocky trail. We climb through rugged country, crosses glacier moraines and past four small lakes to the Laurebina La (4610m). On a clear day we can see Annapurna range through the way. Then the trail leads us steeply down to Phedi (3740m). From here, the route drops to the stream then climbs through the scrub Bamboo to a crest. Continue walk down throughout crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees to Ghopte. At night you can see the lights of Trishuli Bazaar far below and Kathmandu glow behind the hills to the west.
Day 13: Ghopte to Kutumsang (2440m): walking distance 6-7 hours, 540m ascent and 1650m descent
Descending from the ridge at Ghopte, the trail makes numerous ups and downs across ravines and the boulders of old moraines. The trail slightly descends and then begins to ascend through the rhododendron, oak and juniper forests up to the Tharepati (3510m). Trek downhill with only one small ridge to cross en route. Stop at Kutumsang, an interesting typically old-fashioned Helambu village. Attractive Mountain views as well as local peoples' life style, culture; customs would be worth making you glad.
Day 14: Kutumsang to Chisopani (2140m): walking distance 5-6 hours, 970m ascent and 790m descent
A pleasant walk down to the Pathi Bhanyjyang goes through forests. A shorter day but with descends and climbs to Chisopani, where the view of the whole central Himalayas is breathtaking. We can see Himalayan range from Manaslu to Everest. Landscapes will be reflective in the evening and early morning hours.
Day 15: Chisopani to Kathmandu: walking distance 5 hours to Sundarijal, 150m ascent, 1150m descant and about 4 hour drive to Kathmandu
We start the day by climbing up the last pass of the trek at Borlang Bhanjyang, at 2240m. From here we descend steeply through deeply eroded chasms towards the Tamang settlement of Mulkharka (1800m). More super views while descending to the road through oak and rhododendron forests, with some pine a lower altitude. Now it is a short trek to Sundarijal as we walk past the local water supply system and follow the water pipe to this village. From Sundarijal we can take local transportation, or have our private transport waiting for us to bring us back to Kathmandu for about 1 hour 20 minutes.
Day 16: Free day in Kathmandu
Today you will have a free day in Kathmandu valley. Have some rest in your hotel. You can also take a leisurely stroll over the streets and buy some souvenirs and remembering from Nepal. At evening we will have a typical Nepali dinner accompanied with cultural shows in Hotel.
Day 17: Farewell Departure
Today is free or last minute you have few hour special shopping for your relatives. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. We will drop you to the International airportto catch your flight back to your home and wish for your Safe journey.

We are sorry to inform you that though Nepal is rich in water resource, there is electricity crisis in Nepal. It is more likely that there is electricity off for some hours in day and night time. Most of the hotels in Kathmandu, Pokhara and other cities are likely to have no battery backup. Air condition may not work and, sometimes, TV and other electric utensils may not run. Some hotel is likely to run the TV and AC also. However, only few of them are in this category.
So, be prepared for this while you are traveling here. For your ease, we recommend you to bring the flashlight with extra bulbs and batteries.

Most of our treks start on the third day of your arrival. On the first day of your arrival, we will pick you from the airport and let you know your hotel. However, it depends on your arrival time. If your flight is early, we are likely to invite you to our office and make yourself comfort with ideas and brief information on your trek package. If you arrive at night, all the arrangements are likely to made the morning. Second day, it is our package to take you for sightseeing tour within Kathmandu valley. However, the trekkers who have limited time can start their trekking from the second day. We can arrange all the necessary trekking permits and other utensils in advance in case you have limited time. It is your third day that you will fly out of Kathmandu. However, if any further arrangement is still at wait, you can enjoy your trek the next day.
Trekking in the Himalayas need to arrangement of equipment as you have to find yourself comfortable at higher altitude. It is not really necessary to spend large amount of money buying extra equipment and clothing prior to your trip. It is because most of the trekking equipment can be hired from many adventure shops within Kathmandu. Most of the gear is locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper). Some Chinese gear are likely to be more expensive but qualitative. Sleeping bag and down jacket are easily rented. Each item can be rented for less than USD 1, for a day. You have to manage other items buying them yourself. However, these items are more likely to be cheaper than those in your hometown. We will arrange all the necessary items you need on the second day of your arrival. Moreover, we ourselves will fascinate you to buy the goods.
All travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities)

Langtang Lirung is the highest peak of the Langtang Himal range. Langtang Lirung lies near the Trisuli Gandaki, and north of the Langtang Khola.
If you do Langtang ganja la pass trek, the height would be 5200m. For the short treks like Helambu trek or Langtang valley trek, it would be just 3500m.
The starting point of Langtang Gosainkunda can be driving the north-western hills of Kathmandu for about 7-8hr to Dhunche or Syabrubesi. Another way can be through Sundarijal or Melamchi Bazaar, around 3-4 hrs from the Kathmandu valley.
Mainly we have 2 seasons for Gosainkunda trek, the autumn (September, October & November) and spring (March, April & May)season are good when weather is pleasant, The monsoon rains have cleared the sky of dust and the views are often spectacular, clear sky, flowers are in blooming, good trail condition. The winter Dec, Jan and Feb is recommended for this trek as it goes maximum height of 4460m, some time we may expect the foggy weather, The summer (June, July, August is rainy season so visibility can be less and rain will be issue, considering Summer June is ok as in general rain will nearly from last week of June. The benefit to do the trek in off season is there are not many tourists, very easy to find the best rooms in the lodge.
Trekking to Gosainkunda Lake is considered fairly strenuous trekking, some previous small hiking and trekking experience is the plus point for the trip however, people have no previous trekking or mountaineering experience also can do the trek easily. People who have good physical condition and able to work 5 to 6 hours daily in rocky trail can do the trek. We tailor made the trip itinerary depends on people fitness level.
We always recommend to have a guide for any trekking in Nepal Himalaya, there were few trekkers already missed and lost in the some trekking trail, the mountain trail is easily losable and most of the places have no sign for trail junction so people have difficulty which direction to go. Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is considered moderate grade trek and suitable for those who are moderately fit. The treks involve more walking up and down and climb to higher altitudes, where you will be rewarded with close-up views of big mountains. One should work often rough trails, rock and boulder at least 5-6 hours each day and crossing above high altitude passes, the treks will reach 4460m. People have general physical fitness can do the trekking, If have previous hiking and camping experience is more easy to do the trek, you can train yourself for this trek.
The main things in the trek is one should able to walk 5-6 hours every day in rough rocky trail, so every day short walk up to 1 hour,1,2 month before the trek is best suggestion, jogging, yoga will be also advisable.

We saw older people on the trail more easily they finish the trek, this trek is suitable for 2 years to 80 years old people, for baby we provide the extra porter to carry and have already organize a trek for many families with their small children’s. Good comfortable trekking shoes is the most important for the trek, for shorter trek tennis shoes or snickers is ok while longer treks requites the good boots have good ankle support, plenty of tow room for long descents, a bit like timberland, they are a bit heavier, but most importantly you want to get those that wrap the angle, this prevents you from twisting your ankles on uneven grounds. Good lightweight trekking boots or light all leather boots are perfect. Proper fit is a must for boots and must be lightly worn before use it for trekking.
It depends on nature of sickness. Normally if you get sick you will descend to lower altitude with help of support staff. Altitude sickness can affect everyone while trekking including young and healthy people and is a genuine concern. If you feel dizzy, suffer palpitations or severe headaches, return immediately to a lower altitude. Do not take altitude sickness lightly. It can be fatal!

I have been a regular visitor to Nepal for the last ten years and have completed a number of treks, among them Mt.Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes, the Annapurna Circuit and Poon Hill, to name a few.All were filled with new experiences, adventure and challenges. I hired various Porters and Guides for those treks.

I have trekked the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea, and the Inca Trail in Peru so the bar was high for Puru and his team to reach, which they did, smoothly and with great professionalism.

Puru cheerfully adjusted my trek details and the date for departure, not once, but twice! My Guide, Phurba and I met in Puru's office the evening before my trek began.
Phurba raced to the office to meet me at very short notice, and I felt very comfortable with both him and Puru.
I had no hesitation in asking any question. They were forthright and frank about any concerns I had, and both gave me answers without any hesitation, thus confirming their skill and comprehension of English.
Because I am a older female, and would be trekking alone, Puru based his choice of Guide on this information.

Every moment of my trek was a fun and challenging experience, just how I like it. AND! Phurba delivered my morning coffee to me just as I like it every single day too! I felt safe, secure and most importantly, understood by Phurba, not just the language, my Guide understood me and my needs. This was very important for me. I never felt pressured to walk faster if I didn't feel like it, the accomodation was always with a view to my degree of physical condition at the end of each day. Sometimes ground floor, sometime two flights of stairs!

Best Travel Time: February - June, September - November are the best seasons. However, July & August are okay and trekking can be done but not so clear visibility due to rain.

Your trek Back pack/duffle bag: Your baggage on trek will be carried by our porters, the maximum weight per trekkers is 15kg including your sleeping bag and down jacket, Other items not required on trek can be stored in our office or your hotel in Kathmandu.

The following basic equipments checklists should help you with your packing. Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should weigh not more than 33 pounds or 15 kg.
01. Back pack (60 ltr -70 ltr) - with comfortable shoulder straps, frame, and back pack cover (line the bag with polythene).
02. Waterproof Trekking shoes with spare laces – recommended high ankle with good grips,
03. Camp shoes (sneakers and/or sandals)
04. 2 synthetic /waterproof Track Pants

06. Fleece jacket or pullover or Sweater also recommended
07. 1 Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional)
