Dolpo Region Trekking
The Dolpo region, another remote and hidden destination in far west Nepal is the home of Tran Himalayan culture. This trekking destination being protected under Shey-Phoksundo National Park lies to the north of the Dhaulagiri Range bordering the Tibetan Plateau. Dolpo Region, being opened to trekkers since 1990, is restricted area where you need to have a special permit to visit.
Shay Phoksundo National Park is the pride of western Nepal where one can find a well-preserved eco-system of plants and wildlife, including the blue sheep and the elusive snow leopard. It is the place from where the Himalayan range can be seen in all its splendor. Phoksondo Lake, on the other hand, is the major attraction of Upper Dolpo trek where one can enjoy the nature in its fullest.
Lying in the rain shadow area of the Himalayas, the landscape has a similarity that of the Tibetan Plateau which enables the area to be the home of herbal land. In addition to this, one can observe different rain shadow landscapes with stunning mountain views, wild flowers, Himalayan Blue sheep, snow leopards, and huge birds. Moreover, upper Dolpo Trek is a cultural tour too. For example, a visit to the Phoksumdo Gompa – dedicated to the ancient Bonpo religion, local to Dolpo and Tibet, is a memorable experience. Old Buddhist monasteries as well as enthralling culture and tradition are other highlights of Dolpo Trek.
Upper Dolpo Trek
The Dolpa region, designated as Shey Phoksundo National Park, is the

remote district in Nepal situated in the Trans Himalayan region of
mid-western Nepal. It was only opened to trekkers in 1990 Dolpo is

Lower Dolpo Trek
