Eastern Nepal Trekking

Trekking to the Eastern part of Nepal provides its visitors with multiple range of choice. The region is an example with its rare combination of nature and culture. Trekking goals in eastern Nepal include Makalu Barun National Park, an eastern approach to Everest, and the area near Kanchenjunga. Trekking to the very remote Makalu (8475 m) and Kanchenjunga (8598 m) base camps are two of the finest treks in eastern Nepal.
Among many other highlights of Eastern Nepal trekking, the cooler tea-growing region of Ilam is another enchanting beauty it encompasses. Moreover, one enjoys the natural panorama of the series of rivers and stream that flows downwards being melted from the snow peaks. Colorful rhododendron and jasmine on the way are just few examples among tremendous diversity on natural world. Eastern Nepal, in addition, is rich in wildlife too.
Eastern Nepal Trekking enables its visitors to enjoy culture and various ways of living among different ethnic groups of Nepal. One can find the distinct culture and life style of the ethnic groups like those of Rai, Limbu, Temang and Sherpa very interesting. Many villages, such as Dhankuta, Khandbari and Bhojpur are large, prosperous and clean.
Treks here, however, tend to be more expensive. The trekking spot are comparatively far from Kathmandu valley. Traveling either by bus or plane for long sounds expensive. It requires two weeks to travel from Dharan to the high mountains. Flying direct to Tumlingtar and Taplejung can shorten the time, but increases the expense.
