Everest base camp Chola pass Gokyo Lake trekking together is one of the popular and scenic trekking route in Everest region. This trek gives the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the Sherpa people with their religion, customs and traditions, seeing the birds like the golden eagle, snow pigeon, red-billed and yellow-billed coughs and passing by the flowers like rhododendron, magnolias, blue pine, chir pine, juniper and hemlock rewarded the trekking to nature lovers.

This trek is one of the adventurous trek in the Himalayas as it follows the route of Everest base camp, kalapathar, Cho la pass and finally visiting the Gokyo Valley, the small herding settlement of Gokyo (4750m) lies on the banks of the third lake in a series of small turquoise mountain lakes and on the ridge above Gokyo, the four peaks above 8000m of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu expose themselves. On the trail you will be rewarded by the best panoramic view of  Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8201m, Mt. Nuptse 7855m, Mt. Pumori 7161m, Mt. Changaste 7550m, Mt. EBC Chola Pass Gokyo Lake Trekking Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive at Kathmandu (1320m)
We will meet you at Tribhuban International Airport and transfer to the concerned hotel by private coach. After refreshment, we go through the process of equipment checking. Likewise, we process National Park Permits. You can walk around and see the city life of Kathmandu.  

Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city (1320m)
It is your free day to explore the city. Many popular excursions include a UNESCO World Heritage Sites like those of Pashupatinath temple, the Buddhist stupa at Boudhanath and the 2000-year old Monkey Temple at Swayambunath. And the city of Patan with fine arts, in the evening meeting with your trekking guides and discuss about your  equipment and any other needed things for your trekking.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2652m) & 4 hrs trek to Phakding (2,652m)
We will have an early start for our flight to Lukla. Flight operates on the basis of the weather condition at Lukla. If there is unfavorable weather condition, our flight is likely to have some delay. 
Our flight is memorable life experience as it offers fantastic views of the mountains, including Everest. But most people will have their sights firmly set on the arrival to Lukla.
As we arrive at Lukla, we will meet our Sherpa crew who will have arranged porters and yak before our arrival. We may have lunch at Lukla or start trekking directly. It depends on our arrival time.
Now we will walk down for 45 minutes to the Dudh Koshi valley. On the way, we will enjoy magnificent view of Mt. Nupla (5885m), Mt. Kusum Kangaroo (6367m) and Mt. Kwangde range.
Afterwards, our crew marches northwards following the course of the river. Our walk for couple of hours takes us to the village of Phakding where we stop for the night.

Day 04: Trek to Namche (3,440m) 5-6 hrs  
as we leave Phakding, we cross the Dudh Koshi River through long suspension bridge and follow the river northwards. We will be delighted by our first splendid views of the mountains when Thamserku (6608m) appears at the head of a narrow valley.
Now the path crosses back to the other side of the river and passes through the gate of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo where we will be required to show our permits.
We continue to walk along the riverside until a final suspension bridge is crossed which is just below ‘Namche hill’. Now we will climb a long steep hill where Sherpa guides and trek leaders can be seen.
 Finally, we will reach Namche Bazaar, the principal village of the Khumbu region. There we will stay at a comfortable Sherpa lodge.

Day 05: Acclimatization in Namche (3,440m)
Today we make an acclimatization trek up to Khumjung, a delightful Sherpa village above Namche. Khumjung is a quiet village. If we like, we can walk to Everest View Hotel. Everest Museum at Khumjung is the centre of attraction. After lunch, we will return to our lodge at Namche Bazaar.

Day 06:Trek to Tengboche (3,867m) 5-6 hrs
We follow a spectacular path that goes around the hillside high above the Dudh Kosi River. After we walk for about two hours, we will arrive at the lodges of Sanasa where we can stop for tea. Then we descend all the way down to the Dudh Kosi River where we stop at Phunki Tenga for our lunch.
 A long climb upwards takes us to the famous Gompa at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region.
 Here, we will be delighted with the splendid view of Mt. Kwongde (6187m), Mt. Tawache (6542m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse (7855m), Mt. Lhotse (8618m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m) and Mt. Thamserku (6608m). They are all there to provide an inspiring panorama of Himalayan giants.

Day 07:Trek to Dingboche (4,360m) 5-6 hrs
From Tengboche, we head northwards and soon cross the Dudh Kosi River through a small suspension bridge which spans a deep chasm in the river valley.
Now we follow a delightful path through the village of Pangboche. Superb views of Ama Dablam present themselves at virtually every point on the path.
We will continue to walk along the river. Our overnight camp will be at the village of Dingboche. The place enchants us with Island Peaks, Mt. Makalu and another face of Amadablam.

Day 08: Acclimatization in Dingboche (4,360m)
To the north of Dingboche, there are spectacular views of Lhotse’s huge South Face. As part of our acclimatization program, we trek northwards for a couple of hours.
We can take lunch at the hamlet of Chukkung. If we find it comfortable to walk, several local hills are likely to offer a short climb for even better views. In the afternoon, we return to Dingboche.

Day 09: Treks to Lobuche (4940m) 5 hrs
From Dingboche we start to ascend into the highest parts of the Khumbu. We travel through the hillside until we reach the few stone buildings at Dugla. We have lunch here. Now we continue to ascend along the snout of the Khumbu Glacier, passing many stone chortens.
 The path follows a pleasant, grassy valley and finally reaches the lodges at Lobuche. You are likely to be delighted with outstanding views of Mt.Nuptse, Cholatse, Lobuche, and Pumori.

Day 10: Treks to Gorak Shep, Visiti Everest Base Camp and back to Gorak Shep (5,170m) 7-8 hours.
Our trail from Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep remains both enchanting and memorable. This short trek provides you with an opportunity to perceive rural Himalayan culture and nature in its complete harmony.  
We descend down to the moraine covered Khumbu Glacier. The route to base camp is generally well defined with a series of cairns marking the way.
Our three hours of owe inspiring walk takes us to our most awaited destination- Everest base camp, which is a sprawling mass of tents during the main spring climbing season.
 Although we cannot see the summit of Everest from base camp, the Khumbu icefall is right in front of us and we may be able to see the black dots of climbers descending through this chaotic jumble of ice blocks.This is the best time in our life to prove our photographic skills. This beautiful Himalayan panorama offers every forms of beauty that nature has to offer.
After taking our photos and admiring the scenery we retrace our steps back to the camp at Gorak Shep.

Day 11: Gorak Shep trekking to Kala Patthar (5545m) trekking Lobuche (4940 m) 5-6 hrs:
We start early in the morning as mornings are usually sparkling and clear and best time to climb the Kalapathar, this is the highlight of the trekking, we will be rewarded the 360 degree dramatic panorama views of Mt Everest and surroundings mountains, On being back to Gorak Shep, we have breakfast followed  and trekking back to Lobuche.

Day 12: Lobuche trekking to Dzongla (4830m):  In the morning after breakfast drop down via glacier moraine from Lobuche nearby Dugla the route will be changed towards the next stop Dzongla (4830m). This is the last stop before crossing the famous Cho La Pass 5330m.

Day 13 Crossing Chola Pass (5330m):  From Dzongla now you are going for the pass, it will be long walking until the next stop so you may need to carry extra bottle of drinking water because on the way there is no any places for buying drinks. After the pass the trail drops down to the next camp site is called Thangnak (4700m).

Day 14: Thangnak trekking to Gokyo Lake: about 3 hour working to the Gokyo lakes.

Day 15: Gokyo Lake explore around and trekking down to Dole: The excursion to the Gokyo peak usually starts early in the morning. The climb is quite steep first 30 minutes; it will take you an hour to reach the top with its traditional prayer flags. From where you will have a magnificent view of highest peaks, from the west to east are Cho you (8,153m), Gyachung Kang (7,922m), Everest ( 8848m), Lhotse (8,501m) and further way Makalu, On the way to descent you can enjoy, superb view of Gokyo Lake. Afternoon trek down to Dole.

Day 16: Dole trekking to Namche Bazaar: After breakfast we will trekking down to Namche Bazaar

Day 17: Namche Bazaar trekking back to Lukla (2850m) 6-7 hour:
Today the trail descends steeply downward before crossing the suspension bridges on Dudh Koshi River. From here the trail becomes more level and natural. We will work though rhododendron and pine forests with the view of distance snow covered peak before arriving Phakding after lunch continue trekking to Lukla. Our last night with your trekking  team remains memorable.

Day 18: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
Saying goodbye to our porters, we board our flight and make the exciting one-hour flight back to Kathmandu. If the flight is under schedule, we are likely to be back at our hotel before noon and you can have good shower and afternoon rest.

Day 19: At Kathmandu
you are likely to spend the day shopping and roaming around. In the evening you can enjoy a typical Nepalese dinner and cultural show, this is reserve day also if incase bad weather and flight cancel to Lukla.

Day 20: Final departures from Kathmandu.
We will take you to the Kathmandu Airport to catch your flight to your home. Our staff will take care of your safe and timely arrival at the Tribhuvan International Terminal and help you arrange your last minute departure details.

The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.

Flight Delaying:

Flight by plane and helicopter are prone to cancellations and delays for some time due to bad weather and some time operational complications which could be happened in Lukla flight. When these flights are considered in the itinerary, it is highly recommended clients have extra days to prepare with some delays and avoid frustrating consequence and to carry extra money to buy food and accommodations if in case of delays. Above The Himalaya Trekking will help you in a different way to get back and get early flight possible but not responsible for these additional expenses or costs incurred from lost connections.
