Mera Peak Climbing

Mera peak climbing

Climbing Mera Peak 6654 m is the most popular and highest trekking peak in Nepal lies to the South of Everest regions. Mera was first climbed by the snow standard route. The ascent of Mera Peak is technically straightforward, requiring little more than crampons and ice axe.

We will walk along a high, rocky ridge through dense forests and across several streams before reaching the pass that will take us into the remote and largely uninhabited Hinku Valley. At Khare, we will rest and explore the huge moraine and the beautiful glacial lake north of the village. We will proceed to Khare and establish camp. Our ascent will follow the glacier that leads to Mera La and on to high camp where we will prepare for early morning summit. From high camp, we can have the one of the stunning views of Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Baruntse, and Mount Makalu to the east, Everest and Lhotse to the north and Ama Dablam and Cho Oyu to the west. On scaling the summit of Mera Peak, we can have the most spectacular view of entire Himalayan ranges. Best time for this trip would be from September to December and March to early June

The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
