Tilicho (The Worlds highest) Lake Trekking
Tilicho Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world lies in Annapurna Himalayas range of Manang district at the height of s 4,949 m. It is not a prohibited area but virtue of its remoteness and altitude and only travel by few trekkers. The rugged and picturesque trails show you crystal clear lake Tilicho, dotted wild flowers, close and superb giant Himalayan panorama.
The treks to Tilicho follows the world best Annapurna circuit trekking trail with subtropical forests, rice fields, waterfalls, past by local villages. The trekking route has been gaining popularity and this is more demanding with the staying basic lodges. There are two passes leading to Thini Gaon and Jomsom; Mesokanto La and Tilicho North pass known also as Tilicho "Tourist pass". These alternate routes via Tilicho Lake are more often closed by snow and needed to run on fully camping style, so we just visit the lake and continue the trek to Thorong la pass.

Tilicho Lake Trekking Itinerary
Day 01: Meet at Kathmandu Airport:
We will meet you at the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. When you have had time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. During this visit we will help you check your equipment and facilitate the processing of other necessary items such as National Park Permits etc.
Day 02: A full days sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley:
After breakfast our guide will accompany you on tour of sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. You will visit the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. You will also visit Swyambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a 2000 year old temple, and visit Patan City, famous for its fine arts and historical architecture. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the famous Durbar Square, overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Syange/ Jagat (1100m)
Early morning drive to Besisahsar/Bhulbhule through Prithvi High way from Besisahar or Bhulbhule teak a local jeep to Syange the drive is with the view of River, greeneries, local villages and beautiful mountain scenery, from Syange trekking to Jagat overnight in guesthouse, if the drive is late we can stay in Syange also.
Day 04: Syange/Jagat trekking to Dharapani 1960m
after breakfast start the working through jungle after we left Chamje from chamje the trail goes bank of Marshyangdi river mostly climbing before arrive in Tal from here we . We enter Manang district trail continues through barley, rice, potato fields and pine forests past the village of Kodo taking us to Dharapani, which is one of the big villages in the Manang valley. Overnight in Dharapani.
Day 05: Dharapani trekking to Chame: (2630 m.)
Today The trail climbs along the mule track through in and fir forest and then follows the river for a time amongst the higher oak and maple trees. On the way you will have spectacular views of views of major Himalayan peaks. Overnight in Chame.
Day 06: Chame trekking to Pisang (3300m).
Today the trail the trail follows through steep and narrow river valley with deep forest. Along the way you will be rewarded with the best mountain view of Pisang peak and Annapurna 2, Overnight at Pisang
Day 07: Pisang trekking to Manang (3570m)
Today we can follow the two routes to reach Manang, the easier low route follows the valley floor via hongde and the strenuous route follow along the river north side of the valley which takes about 3 hour more than normal lower route.
the trail goes through the fields of grazing Yak and a wide variety of crops before arriving Mananag which provides the spectacular views of Annapurna 2, 3, 4, Gangapurna and Tarkekang.
Day 08: Manang - Acclimatization day
This is a rest day to acclimatize to the higher altitude. Spend a time with visiting monasteries, side trip to Gangapurna Lake, doing some excursions with the wonderful views around the villages, take advice from Himalayan Rescue Association and observe the spectacular views of the Himalaya.
Day 09: Manang trekking to Khangsar village (3734m)
From Manang the trail descent to a Chorten and turns to northwest and goes down to the River. After crossing the Jharsang khola on suspension bridge the trail goes through blue pine forest and the wheat fields before arrive Khangsar, Khangsar is a Gurung village. There you find a small monastery, Chorten, Mani walls and prayer flags. Stay overnight at camp in Khangsar.
Day 10: Khangsar Village Trekking to Tilicho lake base camp (4150m )
From Khangsar the trail climbs steeply past the Gompa and small chortens, trail goes through juniper and sea buckthorn bushes. Along the way we will cross the few streams and climb steeply to arrive Tilicho Lake,from here we can enjoy the closer and panoramic views of Tilicho Peak and surroundings mountain. Overnight at Tilicho base camp in guest house
Day 11: Base camp trekking to Tilicho Lake (4919m) and trek back to base camp
Start the trekking early morning today to Tilicho lake, it will be 3 to 4 hour working to the lake we can have outstanding view of Gangapurna, Tarkekang, Khangsar Kang and the view of Manang valley and Upper Pisang are great, after spending the memorable time at Tilicho lake we will trek down to Tilicho base camp via same way for overnight stay
Day 12: Tilicho base camp trekking to Yak Kharka (4000m) :
From base camp we trek down passing through the ruins of old Khangsar and follow an unmarked trail which will lead you around and down to cross the river on an old log bridge between Gumsang and Yak Kharka, overnight at Yak kharka.
Day 13: Trek to Yak Kharka (4000 meters) 5 hours.Returning from Base camp you can keep high and follow a track 400meters or so above Khangsar village passing through the ruins of old Khangsar and follow an unmarked trail which will lead you around and down to cross the river on an old log bridge between Gunsang and Yak Kharka. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 14: Yak Kharka trekking to Phedi (4420m) from here the trail continue climb along the bank of the Jorsang Khola, It is some time possible to see herds of blue mountain sheep. Stay overnight at Phedi
Day 15: Phedi trekking to Muktinath (3800m).
From Phedi the trail becomes steep, switch backing up moraines and following rocky ridges as it ascends to the pass. The views from the trail and from the pass are outstanding, you can see the long great barrier ridged, Gangapurna, Annapurna, Thorong peak Khatung Kang peak. From the top the trail descends steeply down to Muktinath. This is one of the most important pilgrimage sights for Hindus. It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists. Overnight at Muktinath
We ascend steeply to high camp at 4590m then along an undulating trail to the flat top of throngla( 5416m) from here the trail descend steeply down to Muktinath. This is one of the most important pilgrimage sights for Hindus. It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists stay at 3800m
Day 16: Muktinath trekking to Jomsom (2713m) via Kagbeni (2810m): Today is easy walk after the great success of Thorong Pass, the trail gradually go down to Jharkot with the picturesque kani ( large Gompa) from here the trail stroll among meadows, streams, poplar and fruit trees, finally we arrive Kagbeni a gateway to Upper Mustang, it has posing Chortens and ochre-colored Gompas and monastery, you can visit red walled kagchode Thubten Sampheling Gompa which was founded in 1429. After lunch in Kagbeni continue trekking to Jomsom on the windy trail of Kaligandaki valley, overnight at Jomsom
Day 17: Jomsom to Pokahra : early morning take a flight to Pokhara, free day in Pokhara, overnight at hotel
Day 18: Pokhara – Kathmandu, drive or fly out to Kathmandu, evening join cultural show and Nepali dinner, hotel
Day 19: Final Departure: We will take you to the Kathmandu Airport to catch your flight home. We will wish you a happy journey in the traditional and cultural way of Nepal and hope to see you again!

The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and/or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
