Our team is a combination of professional trekking & tour leaders, and mountaineering guides. We have been working in the Himalayas for many years.

Our reputation for team work, and our trek and tour leaders' willingness to adhere to Best Practise in the Trekking Industry has won us respect and trust as a reliable and safe Trekking Agency. It is this trust that brings many of our clients back year after year to trek and tour with us. With our many years of experience in this field we are able to give you excellent support and help as you explore our beautiful Nepal.

All our Trek and Tour guides are highly trained by the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management. All of our team members are Registered and Licensed as per the Nepal Government requirements. Our entire team is trained in First Aid, Eco - Tourism and are well versed in Nepali Culture, History and Art. We are committed to reveal the genuine Nepal to our travellers.

Our first priority is for your safety, health, security. We are committed to assure our clients that they will have only hygienic food during their time travelling with us, be it in the urban areas, or in the more remote areas of Nepal. Puru Timalsena [Managing Director]

Puru Timalsena is the Founder and Managing Director of Above the Himalaya Trekking (p) Ltd. He has been working in this field for 9 years. Puru is very experienced as a Trekking (Himalayan) guide and has led treks over all the major Himalayan routes in Nepal, Tibet and India. He has never once failed in bringing all his clients over several 5000m plus mountains.

Puru started his career in Tourism from the Hospitality Industry, and, as he was experienced in working with people from all over the world in that industry, it was a short step to change his direction to the Trekking Industry. He worked for a reputed Trekking company before branching out in his own Trekking Agency.

Puru has successfully completed several Trekking and Mountaineering training courses. He still explores different parts of the country, and especially enjoys introducing new routes to the clients who travel with his team.

Always thinking positively, Puru's vast knowledge and boundless enthusiasm in the Tourism field has enabled him to be create a successful Trekking Agency.

Suman Aryal : [Office Manager]

Suman is from Dhading District Ganesh Himal trekking region. He has recently joined the company. Having grown up in the Himalaya, he has an excellent knowledge of the culture, religion and traditions of the country. He looks after all the indoor official activities, accounts and help people to make their travel plan more enjoyable and memorable.

Shyam Shahi (Trekking + Tour Guide)

An excellent English speaking guide having a vast knowledge of Buddhism and yoga meditation, Tourist can definitely get a chance to get a lesson of Buddhism from Shyam. Besides that he has lots of knowledge about Nepal, mountains, cultures, local people and other travel related information. He can speak fluently Japanese and French too. He has been working in the mountain since 1995.

Dhurba Bista (Trekking Guide)

Working since 2000 as a Trekking guide, Dhurba is serving his capable hand and sharing his experience with guest. During his service he made himself one of the best guides in the industry and mostly leading the trip to the more remote part and newly opened route of the country. Having a Government license and involving many trek and tour related training. You can fully enjoy your time with his experience in the Trekking.

Purna Karki [Trekking Guide and Cook]

Purna Karki is also a familiar face in tourism industry of Nepal, has been working in Above the Himalaya trekking from the office establishment. He has vast knowledge of the Nepal Himalayas and every trekking route through out the region. He is very much familiar with Everest, Annapurna, Langtang and many others trekking regions including, Dolpo, Upper Mustang, Narphu Valley, Ganesh Himal and other newly open trekking route. He is Government certified trekking guide and have taken different mountain related training. as well as interesting with his charming and always smiling face.

Ramesh Sapkota[Trekking Guide]

One of the young Trekking guide, whose cheerful face and friendly service make your holiday more enjoyable and reliable. Having lots of knowledge about a different religion, history and religion of the country one can definitely get know more information from him. Mostly being with his guest and every time willing to provide a best service to his guest made him a good guide in a young age.

Basu Duwadi [Trekking Guide]

He is very young and smart trekking guide, Basu comes from Ganesh Himal Trekking region which is a non-tourist Trekking area. He has been working in the tourism industry for the last 4 years and have done the trekking most part of Nepal Mr Duwadi will make your, trip rewarding as well as interesting with his charming and always smiling face

Ek Bahadur Karki [Trekking Guide+ Cook]

Born in the Solukhumbu (Everest Trekking Region) Mr Karki started as his career in the Trekking industries in 1997 as a porter. He has done many camping treks in Nepal in remote areas. He is good cook too. He is very helpful as well as hardworking, Every time looking after his guest, he proves himself one of the Nepal best guide. He assists you to accomplish your dream with minimum effort and unique experience. His friendliness and hospitability definitely make your visit to Nepal memorable.

Phurwa Sherpa (Trekking /Climbing Guide)

Working since 1996 as a Trekking guide and Cook, Phurwa Sherpa is still serving his capable hand and sharing his experience with guest. During his service he made himself one of the best guide in the industry and mostly leading the trip to the more remote part and newly opened route of the country, He have been all remote part of the country. Having a Government license and involving many trek and tour related training. You can fully enjoy your time with his experience in your trekking holiday.

Mahendra Kathayat (Trekking + Climbing Guide)

Mahendra has been working as a Trekking + Climbing guide since 13 years. He is mainly active in Rock climbing and Peak climbing activities. Having lots of knowledge of different languages he can speak a French, Italian and Spanish besides English. Most of the time he find himself to explore a new Rock climbing destination. People who might have an interest of Rock climbing definitely can enjoy with him.

Ningma Tshering Sherpa (Climbing/ Mountaineering Guide)

Nigma Tshering Sherpa is an Everest Summiter. He has scaled a world highest mountain Mt Everest in 2001 and He has successfully climbed Mt. Dhaulagiri in 2003. He has completed several trips and has led groups to several successful summits in Nepal famous mountain peaks.

Shreeram Adhikari [Trekking Guide]

Shreeram is a young and dynamic person, his enthusiasm and commitment towards bringing closest co-operation to every visitor is his remarkable point. Being an every part of the country he has passion for exploring and experiencing the majestic scenery of the remote and less-visited sites.

Born in Western Nepal, Mohan have working in the mountain tourism since 16 years. Nimadawa Sherpa is one of the expert Climbing guide in Nepal he has done (Basic/Adv. Mountaineering Training from NMA, Reference Training from ENSA, Rescue Training in Slovenia, He have been working in the Himalayas since 10 years, this long experience in Climbing have proved him as a successful Mountian Climber.
