Nepal World Heritage Sites Tour
Nepal displays the full range of historic and artistic achievements for which Kathmandu Valley, the capital city of Nepal is world famous. UNESCO has declared ten diverse forms of heritages of Nepal as World Heritage Sites. Out of these, seven heritages are inside Kathmandu Valley and other three are outside the valley.
The seven sites inside the Kathmandu valley include the monuments and temples of high historical and religious importance like those of Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Squares, Patan Durbar Squares and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares. The Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Bauddhanath hold the attention of both Hindu and Buddhist followers. Likewise, the Hindu temples namely Pashupatinath and Changu Narayan are remarkable for their wonderful as well as mysterious architecture.
Lumbini, another world heritage site lies outside the valley that has remained one of the major attractions of Southern Nepal. Popularly known as the birth place of Gautama Buddha, Lumbini is the most sought after pilgrimage spot for Buddhists throughout the world.
The rest of two are natural world heritage sites namely Sagarmatha National Park and Chitwan National Park. The Chitwan National Park, a successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia, offers a wilderness of rich ecosystem that includes mammals, bird’s reptiles and water animals of diverse forms. World Heritage Sites Tour in Nepal Itinerary
Day 1: Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu: Full day sightseeing tour of Boudhanath, (Bouddhanath is among the largest stupas in South Asia, and it has become the focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal . The white mound looms thirty-six meters overhead. The stupa is located on the ancient trade route to Tibet and Tibetan merchants rested and offered prayers here for many centuries. Boudhanath is the best place in the Valley to observe Tibetan lifestyle.) Pashupatinath ( Pashupatinath is Nepal 's holiest Hindu Pilgrimage site (followed by the remote Muktinath in the Himalaya ). Like Varanasi in India - although on a much smaller scale - it is a time-warp of temples, cremation ghats, ritual bathers and bearded, half-naked sadhus (religious mendicants).. And Kathmandu Durbar Square . In fact Kathmandu boasts one of the largest congregations of magnificent historical monuments and shrines ever built. Duly recognized as a world Heritage Site by UNESCO- this particular area best known as Kathmandu Durbar Square lies in the heart of the city. It is the historic seat of royalty. Clustered around the central Durbar Square is the old Royal Palace (Hanuman Dhoka), which serves as a museum that chronicles the life of the past rulers of Nepal, numerous interesting temples dedicated to different Hindu gods and goddess,
Day 3: Drive to Chitwan National Park : Owing to its rich adornment of nature the park was declared UNESCO Natural Heritage Site in 1984. The park that includes in its area a part of the Churiya Hills is covered with deciduous forests overlooking the floodplains of Narayani, Rapti and Reu rivers. There are around 600 plants species, 50 mammals, 526 birds and 49 amphibians, reptiles found in the park. The highlights, of course, are the 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and some 100 nocturnal Royal Bengal tiger that live in the dense forests of the park. Sharing home with these are other animals like rhesus monkey, gray lungur, deer, leopards, white stockinged gaur, wild boar, wild dogs and wild cats. Jungle activities in Chitwan.
Day 04: Full day jungle activities: Full day jungle activities in Chitwan including, Elephant back safari, canoeing, Jungle walk, Elephant breeding centre visit, ethnic village visit
Day 05: After breakfast drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace and compassion. It is a place of pilgrimage for Buddhist as well as place of reverence for peace lovers of any religious faith throughout the world. In Lumbini the central attraction is the sacred garden with Maya Devi temple depicting the birth of Lord Buddha, Ashoka Pillar pinpointing the birthplace of Buddha and Shakya Tank where Maya Devi, the mother of Lord Buddha, is supposed to have taken a dip before bringing forth the baby - Lord Buddha. Around this holy site, there are remnants of Monasteries and Chaityas built over the centuries following Buddha's birth in 632 BC. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: full day Lumbini go to visit Tilaurakot (25kms) to the west, the ancient capital of Kapilvastu, the Kingdom of the Sakya Dynasty in which Lord Buddha was born. PM tour of Monastery Zone and the Lumbini Village Overnight at hotel..
Day 07: Fly back to Kathmandu and leave for World Heritage tour of Changunarayan and Bhaktapur: Changunarayan - is the most ancient Hindu temple in Kathmandu , and is dedicated to lord Vishnu and Bhaktapur – is a medieval charm and visitors to this ancient town, are treated to myriad wonders of cultural and artistic achievements.
Day 08: Kathmandu Mountain . Flight and Sightseeing Tour: Morning transfer to airport to connect "Everest Experience Flight This is the easiest and quickest way to get a close up view of Mt. Everest and other soroundings mountains. Very close up views of Shisha Pangma, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri-Shanker, Melungtse, Numbur, Cho-Oyu, Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Thamserkhu, Kanchenjunga and even glimpses of the Tibetan Plateau
Day 09: Kathmandu World Heritage Tour of Patan Durbar Square and Swayabhunath:The ancient city of Patan lying 5km southeast of Kathmandu is known as the city of fine arts. The city is full of Hindus temples and Buddhist monuments. Swyambhunath - This temple is one of the world's most enchanting glorious and the oldest Buddhist stupas. It is said to be more than 2000 years old.It proves excellent views of Kathmandu valley.
Day 10: Final departure, transfer to airport
